Twinnovation project EN

Discover the Twinnovation project, where innovation combines with collaboration! Twinnovation takes a unique two-pronged approach – companies are offered a specialised training programme on digital and green or twin transition and are supported in small pilot projects to develop innovative solutions for products, services or processes. The project partnership for cross-border cooperation involves the following business and innovation support organisations – Baltic Innovation Agency, Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – as well as 10 dynamic SMEs: Siidrikoda, Mällona Mõis, Dipperfox, Afterone, Peruza, Sakret, Kurzemes Atslēga, Valmiermuižas alus, Baltic Satellite Service, Rāmkalni Nordeco.

One of the most important challenges for SMEs in the transition to dual switching is to receive appropriate guidance to meet their specific challenges. Companies therefore need support to understand what the transition means for their business, innovative ideas and how to turn these challenges to their advantage and what they can gain from it. The situation in Latvia and Estonia with regard to dual transitions is very similar, so cross-border cooperation will help to ease the transition process.

The main objective of the project is to combine theory and practice, supporting the competitiveness of the SME partners and inspiring others to start their dual transition. By addressing the challenges of dual transition, the project focuses on helping SMEs in Latvia and Estonia to adapt to changing circumstances, learn the latest technologies and create innovative jobs. By fostering regional cooperation, the project aims to boost the growth and competitiveness of both countries, positioning them as innovation hubs for the dual transition.

The project partners, representing SMEs, will develop and implement a dual transition action plan over 1-3 years. Once the plan is finalised, they will launch an innovative pilot project on digital and/or green transition within one year. This pilot project will serve as a starting point for their broader dual transition strategy, which aims to deliver tangible results and innovative solutions in processes, services or products. The pilot projects aim to introduce new or improved products/services and explore innovative business models and processes aligned with their Dual Transition Action Plan.

Twinnovation’s expected results:

  • 13 Organisations implementing cross-border cooperation
  • 10 Pilot actions jointly developed and implemented in projects
  • 10 Jointly developed solutions
  • 10 Innovative solutions for SME products, processes, services or marketing
